Malaysian Caramelised Pork! So good people are buying 3 or 4 at a time... Aussie pork belly is cooked twice so that the fat is rendered right down. (First it is braised in our own master stock. Then it is deep fried.) Finally it's finished off with our authentic caramel sauce. It's served with jasmine rice and Asian pickles. (Traditionally served with meats to help digestion.) The very best bits of rice are those at the bottom of the pack where they have absorbed the sauce and gone beautifully caramelly and sticky! While there is chilli in the recipe, it's not at all overpowering. It just adds to the flavour and gives a background warmth. Lots of our customers who are a little chilli-shy have told us that they really enjoy it. (Which might be why they're ordering them 3 or 4 at a time........) Heat this to your own taste. Some like the pork to be very tender and soft and juicy - and so it's advised to slowly heat up till you find your sweet spot. If you like tender we'd recommend heating in the microwave for about 3 1/2 minutes, and then tasting to see how you find it. Others like to cook it more, when it tends to go much chewier and drier, and even more caramelly.Malaysian Caramelised Pork! So good people are buying 3 or 4 at a time... Our Mac n Cheese - a deluxe, velvety, super-cheesy version of this comfort classic. (One of our customers calls this "Max n Cheese!")
It is packed full of cheese - 17% - a mixture of Tasty Cheese (Cheddar that's been aged longer than usual) and Parmesan. Macaroni is simmered in pure, whole dairy milk. While that's happening our beautiful béchamel sauce is prepared with butter, white wine, garlic, thyme, rosemary, salt, pepper, nutmeg and a touch of dijon mustard. To that is added really generous helpings of tasty cheese and parmesan, making it super-unctuous and comforting. Perfect for these oh-so-cold nights. Serve it to your taste - simply as it comes, or grilled....... Our new Roasted Pumpkin Soup - just in time for winter...... What's more comforting than a traditional pumpkin soup? We start with roasting the pumpkin to really enhance its full flavour. Then we combine it with potato, onion and a little garlic. The basis of our soup is our own hand-made chicken stock - guaranteeing not only depth of flavour, but also all the nutrition of real bone broth. We finish it off with a light touch of cumin and fresh cream. Serves 2 as an entree, or one hungry person on its own. Serving Suggestions: Perfect to be served with a slice or two of toasted sourdough. Add some sage leaves fried in brown butter; some apple batons tossed in lemon juice; some sourdough croutons;, a little sour cream, or coconut yoghurt; or chopped, toasted hazelnuts. A winter hug in a bowl. Both the Roasted Pumpkin soup and our other new soup - Hearty Vegetable with Lentils & Chorizo - are both "tested gluten-free" You can see the rest of our large range of gluten-free foods on our Gluten-Free menu, and also the Store pages on our website. They also contain no nitrites) Our Sautéed potatoes are just that - real potatoes tossed in a pan with a little onion - (Not hash browns made with instant potato mix) We've added baked beans and couple of slices of crispy bacon to make the perfect start to your day. Breakfast just like you'd cook for yourself - without the fuss Is it a soup or a stew? Our new Hearty Vegetables with Lentils & Chorizo - so thick you can (literally) stand a spoon up in it. Thick - hearty - warming - packed full of flavour & nourishment - this winter comforter is perfect for these chilly evenings (and days) ![]() Our new Authentic Indian Curry - Lamb with Basmati Rice.
This dish is an explosion of Indian flavour, colour and aroma. It gives the real warmth and depth of Indian curries without being too spice-hot In this recipe the meat is cooked separately from the rice, in the traditional "pakkii" (Hindi for "cooked") method. Lamb is tossed in the pan with Indian spices plus cinnamon, lemongrass and tamarind. Coconut milk is then added and the curry is gently simmered till fall-apart tender (which you can see from the photo). It's served with perfectly cooked fluffy grains of scented basmati rice that have been infused with the flavour of even more Indian spices and herbs, including Turmeric, which gives it its wonderful colour. We've added some green beans for even more colour, texture, and a dose of extra nutrition.
Dinner was ready for us last night.
All we did was grate some nutty, vintage cheddar on top our of Classic Cottage Pie, and pop it into the oven till the potato topping was brown and crispy. (And then add some baby green peas on the side.) Little time spent for a lot of comfort. To guarantee quality and taste our chef hand-makes all our premium sausages. They're 95% pure, lean Aussie beef. No offal or bread (just a tiny bit of rice flour). They're also nitrite- and nitrate-free.
Making your own sausages, mash and onion gravy at home takes a lot of work and time (and saucepans). Now you can eat this great comfort meal whenever you want - not fuss, no work, no waiting..... Our Duck Confit.
Last night we cooked a beautiful puy lentil ragout (*recipe from Recipe Tin Eats) and steamed some fresh asparagus to add to our own Duck Confit. We cracked open a chilled bottle of Chenin Blanc and dreamed of being in Paris. * https://www.recipetineats.com/lentil-ragout-french-puy-lentils-side-dish/ Our single serve Teriyaki Chicken is so popular it's now available as a meal-to-share as well. Generously-sized this will happily feed 2-3 (when you add your own rice and/or veggies) You can find it here: https://www.dinnersready.com.au/store/p172/Teriyaki_Chicken__%28DF%29.html#/ Love mash but can't be bothered with the faff of making it? Our creamy mash is real mash, the way you remember it used to be. Without the effort.
Made with only 4 ingredients - potato, milk, cream and butter - it's real food. Salt, pepper and a tiny touch of nutmeg are added to bring out the flavour. Nothing else. No preservatives, thickeners, additives, 'milk solids' or numbers of any kind. Our chef has piped it into 6 easy portions so that you can use as little, or as much, as you'd like for each meal. If you're a fan of Paris Mash - it's super easy. Put on some French music, warm the mash in a pan on gentle heat, add pretty much as much butter as you feel like (according to your own personal 'sinful' level), mix it around with a wooden spoon until it firms up and - eh, voila - you've added a touch of luxury to any meal. |
