Confit Duck Breast (GF DF)

$14.95

Confit Duck Breast (kiev) - Single Serve

150g piece - serves 1

Delicious and luxurious. A real treat for when you feel you feel like being spoilt!

Duck is cooked in the way of classical French confit cookery - long and very slow so it retains its beautiful flavour, and develops an extra richness. The result is fall-off-the-bone tender. It's cooked in duck fat, so it is dairy-free.

This meal contains the Confit Duck only - add our Creamy Mash and Spring Vegetables for a complete meal, or serve with a freshly tossed salad.

Dietary:

Gluten-free, dairy-free

Ingredients:

Duck Breast (98%), garlic, salt, thyme, black pepper

Heating Instructions:

For the very best results - and to retain the tenderness of the meat - defrost before heating.

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
  2. Take confit out of container/plastic
  3. Place on a baking tray or dish, and heat for 15 minutes (if defrosted) or 25-30 minutes if still frozen.
  4. Then - to crisp up the duck skin - place under a pre-heated grill for 2-5 minutes.
  5. The duck has been cooked till tender. Please be gentle with it!  If you overheat or overcook it the meat will unfortunately go tough.

Serving Suggestion:

This makes brilliant duck pancakes.

Just buy some duck pancakes and either Hoisin or Plum sauce from your local Asian store. Heat the duck according to the instructions, flake the meat when ready, add some cucumber and spring onions and you have quick, easy, and very economical duck pancakes.

We find each confit duck fills about 6 pancakes (see photo)
